Excerpt from Love, Regret and Accidental Nudity

There are so many books available to us today. I love a stirring drama or comedy. As I press the soft rubber of my e-reader or flick a page and find an assortment of words causing a howl of laughter, it's the best. But, c'mon, who needs another stirring saga, sidesplitting tale of hilarity or book of haikus? (With the exception of the well-written, witty and insightful Veronica Bennett Series of love, comedy and accidental crime.)

If there is an empty space on the bookstore or virtual shelf, perhaps it is wince-worthy literature that has been so underserved: the step-child of irony, the cousin of black humor, the Mongolian-Albino step-cousin of dark creative non-fiction. It is to fill that need this book has been written. Wince. Do we always have to fall back on a smile and frown; the salt and pepper of emotions? A blanch of surprise? A trace of disgust, bob your head slightly, narrow your eyes, shudder with sympathy, retreat with discomfort, stiffen with envy, and by all means...wince. I offer Love, Regret and Accidental Nudity.
